Here at Visible Art, we believe it’s vitally important to monitor our impact on the environment.

Being a traditionally troublesome industry, we have endeavoured to find solutions to these problems or reduce them as much as possible wherever possible to become a more environmentally friendly printer.

In 2018, we launched our Green Promise.

Energy

Solar Panels - We produce 100% of our electrical needs during the summer months and approx 50% during the not so sunny months!

Equipment - The Adelco Eco-tex tunnel dryer is one of the most energy efficient dryers on the market. Since its installation we have found it gets a bit chilly in the workshop during the winter months!

Waste Management

General Waste - Converted into energy at local incinerator.

Recycle - We recycle all our unused boxes and packaging waste.

Glue Cans - Considered hazardous waste, we safely puncture the canisters and recycle the metal.

Chemicals - The automated screen-cleaning equipment keeps all the chemicals used to recycle screens in self contained booths, with the chemicals only needing to be changed once every 6 months. These chemicals can then be taken away and disposed of correctly by a certified waste management service.

Garments - Mis-printed and damaged garments are used as test sample shirts until they can hold no more prints! They are then turned into rags to clean up our inky messiness!

Water Usage

Screen Developer & Automated Screen cleaning - The introduction of this specialised equipment has seen a 50% reduction into our water usage.

Environmental Garment Options

Garments

Having put so much effort into all these areas it would be a shame not to use the best quality garments available, so we do!

Stanley and Stella only offer the highest quality assured organic and recycled garments. We really can’t sing their praises high enough.

Thats not to mention we also have the earth positive and salvage ranges available from the Continental Clothing Company.

We are supremely confident that you will be able to find the right style and quality of garment for your brand.

Fairtrade- The Fairtrade Max Havelaar Cotton Mark means that the cotton has been produced by small-scale farmer organisations or plantations that meet Fairtrade social, economic and environmental standards.

Salvaged  - Recycled polyester.

Reduced Carbon Footprint - In January 2008, Continental Clothing Co. became the first company in the world to calculate the carbon footprint and place the Carbon Reduction Label on textile products.

Oeko-Tex Standard 100 - The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is an independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production. The testing for harmful substances always focuses on the actual use of the textile. The more intensive the skin contact of a product, the stricter the human ecological requirements to be met. The Continental Clothing certificate meets Class I criteria for textile items for babies and toddlers up to 3 years, the highest of the four classes of certification. We want you to have the best garments we can find which is why we are proud to offer Stanley & Stella organic clothing and Continental earth positive and salvage ranges. Simply hop on to their websites and let us know which garments you are interested in and we can generate a custom quote for your brand.
